Guidelines
The submission email address can be found at the bottom of the page, underneath the following text. Feel free to skip the Submission Tips, but by submitting you are agreeing to have read and acknowledged the Submission Guidelines.
Here’s what we need from submissions in order to be considered eligible for publishing:
- Name (if this is a feature for something you didn’t create, then the name of the person credited with creating it, and your name if you would like to be credited for the suggestion)
- Title of the work in email’s subject line
- Short description of the meaning of the work
- Additional details / author bio: essentially, whatever you would like to be added to your name in the credits of the post
- For art, photography, and written features: a copy of the work in .pdf or .png format
- For suggestions, video features, or features available in the public domain: title of the work, description, and search tags / creator’s name for the work to help us find it online (no links.)
- For feedback submissions, complete this form.
- For general content suggestions, complete this form.
Submission Tips
Tip: Almost all word editing programs will allow you to find “file to .pdf” in “print > options.” Saving as .pdf or .png will be an option for almost all “save as” processes, as well. If further assistance is needed, you can click here for a general tutorial.
Tip: If you’re on the Notes App, you can submit it like this: “share > print > print options > save to files”. This will save whatever you’ve written as a .pdf in your phone’s Files, which you can then attach to your submission email. (Do not click the email option directly after “share”. This will send us a link to the note, which we will not click on.)
Submission Guidelines
Anything submitted not as a .pdf or .png format, or in the form of a link, will not be considered. This is to take some of the pressure off of our anti-virus programs. We do not have a specific preference for either .pdf or .png; use whichever is easiest for you.
Submissions can be any of the following: article pitches, feedback, art / literature / video features, or topic suggestions. “Video of Significance” features will provide an interactive window with the chosen video embedded, a summary of its significance, and a short author bio. In physical copies, the video aspect will be replaced with a still thumbnail picture, and the same written content.
Submissions are generally reviewed and decided upon within 1 – 3 days. Whether we pass on your submission or accept it, you will receive a response regardless. (We’ll be nice about it, don’t worry.)
Policy: By submitting, you are acknowledging that the work was in no way contributed to by: 1.) a person who you did not provide credit for, or 2.) Artificial Intelligence. If this agreement is found to be faulty (i.e., it was created by Artificial Intelligence or by someone who was not credited) it will result in the published work being taken down.
If submitting a work created by yourself; please note that, unfortunately, we do not currently have the funds to pay you for it. However, you will be credited in whichever issue it gets published in, and retain full rights of your work.
If you are submitting a suggestion for someone else’s work to be included, we will need verifiable credits to the original creator. Otherwise it will be passed upon.
All submissions may be sent to bluebirdsubmissions@outlook.com.
